We had the opportunity to talk in depth about the world behind Here Come the Freaks: the origins of EPTA7, the ideas and fears that inspired the album, our approach to industrial metal and dark alternative music, and the visual universe that has gradually grown around the project.

The conversation also looks toward the future. We discussed how EPTA7 is evolving and gave some first insights into Schengen Reloaded, our next album — a heavier chapter that moves from the personal fears explored on Here Come the Freaks toward the wider anxieties surrounding contemporary Europe and the world we live in.

We’re very happy to share a new in-depth interview with EPTA7, published by Sweden’s ZERO Music Magazine.

Under the title “From Rammstein to Dissection: EPTA7 has awakened after ten years of silence”, journalist Petter Jahnstedt takes a deep dive into the history, influences and evolution of the project — from our beginnings in Dublin and the long road that eventually led to Here Come the Freaks, to the direction we are now taking with our next album, Schengen Reloaded.

The conversation goes well beyond the new music. We talk about our industrial roots, the influence of Swedish metal, cinematic horror and Lovecraft, the changing identity of EPTA7, our relationship with Europe and why creating an atmosphere has become just as important to us as writing a song.

Released on May 21, 2026, Here Come the Freaks represents a new chapter for EPTA7: a collection of songs built around fears, trauma, paranoia and the strange characters living at the edges of society.

From the oppressive atmosphere of “The Walls Breathe” to tracks such as “Walking Ghost,” “Frozen Town,” “Kartoffeln” and “Zombies of the Third Millennium,” the album was conceived not simply as a collection of individual songs, but as a single dystopian world populated by ghosts, monsters and human freaks.

“Kartoffeln” Official Music Video Out Now

 EPTA7 have released the official music video for “Kartoffeln”, a track taken from their latest album Here Come the Freaks.

Set in the same dark, dystopian universe that surrounds the album, the video follows a mysterious killer moving through the city and choosing his victims one by one. Convinced that he is the hunter, he gradually discovers that something else has been following him from the shadows.

He thinks he is the hunter. He doesn't know he's being hunted.

Blending industrial metal, dark alternative music and cinematic horror, Kartoffeln continues EPTA7's exploration of paranoia, fear and distorted urban environments, transforming the song into a short visual horror story.

The video was created by Maya / Bisma, bringing the disturbing world and atmosphere of Kartoffeln to life.

In the interview, Gianz Vukodlak and Miss Grey take readers deeper into the world behind EPTA7, exploring the origins of the project, its imagery, influences and the ideas that have shaped its identity over the years.

The conversation goes back to Dublin, where EPTA7 was formed in 2012, before moving into the symbolism surrounding the name and the recurring number 7, the creature that inhabits the EPTA7 universe, and some of the artistic and cinematic influences behind it — including H. This time, Doomed For Metal Reviews took a deep dive into the album — and what makes the review particularly interesting is that industrial metal isn't normally the reviewer's main territory.

Despite approaching the record from outside the genre, Here Come the Freaks clearly made an impression:

“One of the most catchy albums I've heard this year. Every song has a hook and there aren't any that are bad.”

The review highlights the album's combination of heavy riffs, clean production, electronic elements and contrasting vocal styles, while discussing several tracks individually.

EPTA7 – Line-Up Update and New Album Title

 

We would like to share an important update regarding the current EPTA7 line-up.

Industrial Fog is no longer part of EPTA7.

We would like to sincerely thank him for the professionalism, dedication and hard work he brought to the project. His contribution has been an important part of this chapter of EPTA7, and we are genuinely grateful for everything he has done during his time with the band.

We wish him nothing but the very best for his future projects and whatever comes next.

For the time being, EPTA7 will continue as a two-piece, while we search for the right musicians to complete the line-up. We have no intention of rushing this process. For us, EPTA7 has always been more than simply putting musicians together: finding people who understand its sound, atmosphere, imagery and overall artistic vision is essential.

In the meantime, our plans remain unchanged.

Work continues on our next album, scheduled for release in November 2026, along with the audiovisual projects that will accompany this new chapter.

We would also like to officially clarify the album's title.

Although we previously referred to it as Schengen Reloaded, the definitive title of the new EPTA7 album will be:

SCHENGEN RELOAD

The line-up may change, but the world we are building continues to evolve.

Frozen Town takes us deeper into the dystopian universe surrounding the album: a place where the city is more than a setting. Streets, buildings and memories become part of a living organism, while the boundary between human beings and the monsters they create slowly begins to disappear.

Isolation, fear and psychological transformation lie at the heart of the story. As with the rest of Here Come the Freaks, the horror is not simply about creatures hiding in the darkness. The monsters are manifestations of something much more human.

For an independent industrial metal project, radio airplay is much more than just hearing one of our tracks on the air. Every spin helps the music travel beyond our own channels and introduces the strange, dark world of EPTA7 to people who may never have encountered us otherwise.

EPTA7 – “Kartoffeln” Featured on Tomi’s Radio Show

 

Another EPTA7 track has made its way onto the airwaves.

“Kartoffeln”, taken from our album Here Come the Freaks, has been featured on Tomi’s radio show/podcast, bringing one of the album’s most unusual tracks to a new audience.

Kartoffeln is a strange creature even by EPTA7 standards — a track where industrial metal, dark electronics and the surreal atmosphere of Here Come the Freaks collide. Seeing it selected for airplay is particularly satisfying, because it represents exactly the kind of unpredictable side of EPTA7 that we wanted the album to have.

A massive thank you to Tomi for discovering the track, supporting independent music and giving EPTA7 some precious airtime.

Every review, reaction, playlist and radio appearance helps this little Irish-Italian industrial monster travel a little further.

EPTA7’s “The Walls Breathe” Featured on INDIE NOXZINE

 

We’re very happy to share a new review of EPTA7’s “The Walls Breathe”, published by INDIE NOXZINE as part of their Editorial Review / Partner Feature series.

Written by Anne, the review takes a close look at the elements behind the track — from its central guitar riff and dark electronics to the contrast between Industrial Fog’s controlled vocals and Miss Grey’s softer presence.

What particularly resonated with us was the way the review understood the intention behind the song: The Walls Breathe was never designed around constant aggression. Its weight comes from repetition, tension, atmosphere and the feeling that something unsettling is always hiding just beneath the surface.

Anne describes the track as having a character that feels “closer to psychological horror than straightforward metal”, a description that fits perfectly with the world we wanted to build around Here Come the Freaks.

One passage in particular stayed with us:

The review also explores the wider concept behind our debut album Here Come the Freaks — its interconnected locations, characters and recurring symbols — while recognising that the narrative never needs to overshadow the music itself.

For us, that's especially meaningful. EPTA7 has always been about creating more than individual songs: atmosphere, imagery and storytelling are all parts of the same world.

Face Ripper Records reacts to EPTA7 – “The Walls Breathe”

 

A new reaction to EPTA7's “The Walls Breathe” is now online, this time courtesy of Ben at Face Ripper Records.

The episode was particularly interesting for us because EPTA7 sits somewhat outside the channel's usual diet of heavier and more extreme music. Ben approached the track with an open mind, focusing not only on the music but also on the atmosphere, visual concept and the relationship between EPTA7's human creative direction and contemporary production tools.

During the reaction, he highlighted the song's hooks and the way the “breathing walls” concept translates into the video, while also offering constructive criticism and encouraging us to push the heavier side of the project even further.

His closing words were perhaps the best way to end the journey:

“It’s another artist to keep an eye on and I will be watching closely.”

One of the most rewarding parts of being an independent band is watching someone discover your music for the very first time.

Today we're excited to share a brand-new reaction by Jimmy D's Rock Talk, who recently took his first journey into the world of The Walls Breathe, one of the key tracks from our debut album, Here Come the Freaks.

Rather than simply listening to the song, Jimmy paid close attention to its atmosphere, the production, the instrumental work and the dark cinematic mood that defines the EPTA7 universe. Throughout the reaction, he repeatedly commented on the heaviness of the guitars, the blend of electronics and metal, and the immersive feeling created by the music and visuals.

One moment that genuinely made us smile was hearing him say:

We're always curious to hear how someone reacts when experiencing EPTA7 for the very first time.

This time, Phil Reacts featured "The Walls Breathe" on his YouTube channel, offering a detailed first-listen review that focused on the song's atmosphere, production, songwriting and industrial identity.

Among his comments were two that particularly caught our attention:

"A damn perfect industrial song."

and

"An entire master class on industrial music in four minutes."

Throughout the review, Phil highlighted several aspects of the track, including:

• the balance between guitars and electronic textures;
• the production and sound design;
• the contrast between the male and female vocals;

EPTA7 Receives 9/10 Review from Metal Music Meltdown

 

We're excited to share another important milestone for EPTA7.

Metal Music Meltdown has published a full review of our debut concept album, Here Come the Freaks, awarding it an outstanding 9/10.

Reviewer Jeremy listened to the entire album and highlighted the elements that define EPTA7's identity: the blend of industrial metal, dark electronics, cinematic storytelling and horror-inspired atmospheres. He described the album as having a "very unique sound", praising not only the music itself but also the concept and immersive world behind it.

For an independent, completely self-produced project like ours, receiving such a thoughtful review is incredibly rewarding.

What made this even more special was Jeremy's personal message after the review:

"I loved the album, very unique sound, and interesting concept. Any plans to release this album on CD? I would love to add it to my collection. I'll definitely review future albums for you."

Hearing that someone wants to own a physical copy of the album is probably one of the best compliments an independent band can receive.
